Leroy was born in Flatonia, Texas. He moved to Rogers at age 10 and graduated RHS in 1951. He served in the army from 1952-1955. After returning home he began dating Barbara Brust, the girl he would love with all his heart for the rest of his life. They married August 18, 1957. Leroy was an accomplished business man and contributed to the growth of Rogers. The most important event in Leroy’s life was when he accepted Christ as his Savior, 45 years ago. He fully turned his life over to Christ and had a strong passion of sharing his faith. Even in his death his witness continues. Leroy was an avid Razorback fan and had a great love for animals. He purchased land to be able to raise miniature horses, llamas, red deer, elk as well as dogs, cats and birds as pets. Leroy was a devoted husband and father to Terry, Sherry, and Tressa and grandfather to 6 grandchildren. Having been classmates with Marjorie Marugg-Wolfe and John Wolfe, Leroy began supporting SPSFBC proud of the work they do to serve single parent families in Benton County.
