Virginia Mocivnik (d. 2013)
Virginia Mocivnik passed away September 12, 2013, leaving behind family, friends, and a better Northwest Arkansas. Ginnie’s philosophy does not allow us to disclose her age because how well you live is so much more important than how long you live….and she lived well for a good, long time. Ginnie was an early, ardent, and lifelong supporter of Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Benton County. She served on the Board of Directors; interviewed and mentored students, staff and volunteers; developed resources; and gently encouraged community leaders to support the scholarship program. And, you know, Ginnie’s gentle encouragement was hard to resist. She left a positive impact on our region – just look around at NorthWest Arkansas Community College, Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport, athletic programs for girls, roads, rural water and fire departments, and the people she mentored and encouraged. Ginnie chose to live in Northwest Arkansas and worked willingly to promote better lives for residents of our community. Ginnie is survived by her daughter, Patti, and thousands of friends.
